B’s Fav Girl and I have a joke. “Do you need bail money?” Not much of a joke. But it’s another reason I sleep a lot. Ha! I don’t need to think about the crime scene that is living. V’s been on the case for six years. “Case VI Detective Braxton.”

Legacy 120 -Case VI Detective Braxton-
2097 Days Without B III, Day 1538 of Virgil’s Arrival
Just Me, Baby B,
Did you have a good day? Good Day? Yes, I still ask because I can’t accept some things. Death, desire, dum-dums
Accepting Sir Patrick Stewart’s death is sad; may he Rest In Peace. Icon, a legend.
Braxton, to me you were more than my brother, my best friend, my beast. Balls! Braxton, my son, Thou Art Courageous. And that’s why I can’t accept you being gone. Not now, not ever. As far as I’m concerned, I remain a father, a dog dad of two. Always! Forever!
And what does that make me? That’s the question I’ve been asking myself Day Job-wise.
Am I delusional? Am I damned for what happened to you? And then there’s your brother, V. Not loving him as much makes me a dum-dum. As Carlos says, Dee-Dee-Dee
That brings me to today. Yesterday was about my whining vis-à-vis “Backrooms.” Not done there.
Today I got two words for ya, Village Idiot! What, you thought this was about your brother turning six, nine days ago? There I go being an idiot. At least the village doesn’t see this
“Why must I feel this way?
Just make this go away.
Just one more peaceful day.”
It’s Been Awhile, Staind
But what do I want the village to see? I’ve been so exhausted I can barely remember all my worrying about the Magic Glasses/MIMA. Isn’t that what life espouses, Braxton?
With enough money, life can be whatever I want it to be. So where is all the money going, hmm? Virgil still has cake and even pie. That’s another thing, B. Where’s my time, hmm?
I told myself I’d be done by 10:30 PM… I still remember being up at 4:00 AM some nights, B. You and your brother’s looks.
Bedtime before I have to go back to the Day Job, aka “The Bad Place.” Why not name it the Backrooms, B III? Of everything in that place, I’m the something off for sure, Braxton.
Again, the Village Idiot. And if it only stopped at the Day Job. It’s the same with Whiteout Survival, writing, and women, too. It’s a constant “Mad Season” here, B III, honestly. No wonder you made sure I always got to bed, and Virgil is content to cuddle almost all the time. Stupidity is catching.
It’s the only time I shut up. If it isn’t rage or indifference, I constantly whine about anything and everything. Is it any wonder I seek solace in Virtual Insanity? Safety, sinning, scared sometimes… And STUPID. Case VI Detective Braxton
It feels like I’m dying. I’m so scared all the time.” ― Mara, Spontaneous (2020)
Always and Forever,
Your Dad
